I could rave all day about how good the food was here, how authentic it was, and the nice atmosphere, but what is guaranteeing that I will return was the amazing service. The waiter answered all our questions, had good recommendations, and was attentive despite a busy restaurant. Thank you!

I was on a hunt for East African food, knowing that Minneapolis had a large population of residents of East African descent. I landed here. Not knowing what to order (it was my first time trying this type of food), I asked the server for his recommendations. He brought out an array of food. It was all so good, and the flavor profiles were complex while not being overpowering. Plus, he brought us what he called African Tea, which has black tea, honey, cardamom, and milk in it. It was so delicious that as soon as I got home, I went to the store to buy cardamom so I could make it again. Great place.

Place was empty but when you are a solo server taking orders inside and from a to go spot, things can get a little long. Nothing detrimental and the speed at which the food comes out saves it.
Service though is friendly and willing to talk about the foods and backgrounds if need be.
The sanbuus are filled with curried beef that is tasty though perhaps a bit small. It does comes with a what looks like a half size, side salad.
Goat meat is great and not to fatty with some fajita bell peppers and onions over them. Garnish of raisins.
Then a side of potatoes and what tasted like a curried/marinara sauce.
    Tea was excellent and hot.

What confuses me so far with trying Somali food is the hot level, something always seems off by this quality.
    Goat warm, not hot.
Fajita spread was perhaps less than lukewarm.
Potatoes were warm, sauce was lukewarm.

It's in a word: amazing. The food is delicious. Service is quick and on point. Their prices are average but the quantities are vast and could feed 1-2 people more than advertised. Definitely recommend.

First time for my family, only second time for me at an African restaurant. My first experience in AR caused me to want to treat my kids to this African restaurant. I was not sure what they would think! They were all pleasantly surprised at how amazing everything was! We were up to an adventure, but were prepared not to be accustomed to new flavors. What a treat it turned out to be!
