“Not a great choice for large groups. I had called twice in the two weeks prior to make a reservation for a Saturday at 4:15. They said that I could the first time I called, and he said he had me down. I then told him how many people, day and time because he never asked. I felt uneasy about it because I had a party of 15. I called again two days later to confirm I had a reservation. He had no record, but said I could make one and took my info again. I knew I wasn't going to have a reservation and just went with it. When the first of our group arrived, the staff had no reservation or notice of our group. That was fine, they arranged tables to accommodate us in the moment. The waitress seemed overwhelmed with that many people in a group. The food came out sporadically over a 20 minute span and they couldn't match person with order. And they were using different words to describe the food then the menu used so when they asked the table who ordered it, no one claimed it because they didn't know to. The checks came out a mess and took awhile to distribute. We were a large group, so I understand the struggle. We had to pay at the register, but weren't told that, so we spent an obnoxious amount of time taking up space waiting for the cards to be collected and ran. And in the end, the food was just okay. Forgettable, but filling.”

“Simple, clean, great service. Sunday Buffet is basics, done well. Buffet monitored well so no stale food. Very hometown feel. Prices medium. Tasty biscuits and gravy. Waffles light and fluffy. Nothing wrong, lots of locals very telling. We're gonna come back.”

“Love this place and so happy that Surfside is here! The owner is awesome and on top of everything. He cares about his establishment and takes an active role in running the place. Most of the staff is spot on. The servers need to NOT ask "do you need change" however. That is definitely a rookie mistake and just need a little training. I do wish they had a better bottle beer selection - let's see some of the local Minnesota craft beers available in bottles or cans please! Also, I'd like to see some talent from the bar tenders. A few specialty mixed drinks would be nice. And my last criticism is for some better salads. They lack imagination and could do better with their ingredients. Overall this place is wonderful and we are strong supporters!”

“I hesitated to give this restaurant a good review. All kidding aside I would give them six stars if I could. The staff was excellent, food superb and having a round table made for easy conversation with our group of eight. Can't wait to return.”
