Black Woods Bar & Grill

My family and I rarely go out, and because we had a guest with us, we went out. Decent atmosphere (great music choice), but the place is probably due for a new carpet. My dad ordered the firehouse burger, and it was over cooked, and the onion rings were burnt. My brother got the pot pie, but got soup, with a dry, tough piece of pastry. It was not a pot pie. The pearl onions were a good addition though. Service was really slow for how few people there. And the waitstaff seemed out of it, and indifferent. And prices are 5*, but the quality is 3* at best.

Food was good and service was what I have come to expect from a small town on the north shore. Decent but not stellar. I sat at the bar between two couples about to leave. It took the bartender over an hour to clear their dirty dishes. That is not a busy bartender, that is just a clueless employee who probably shouldn't be in the hospitality business. I don't want to spend the night sitting between a pile of stinky dishes. I'll definitely be back, but the management of this restaurant needs to seriously train their employees.

Great food in big portions. Upscale casual place. There's a dining room and a bar room, the dining room was cozy. The staff were super friendly so that was nice since we were visiting on our way through town.

Big fan of this location. We travel to the North Shore often, and it's nice to go to a place where you can be sure you're getting what you expect. We love the patio option during summer, and appreciate the fact it's dog friendly. Friendly, fast-paced staff and an often-changing menu make it a great spot to stop on the shore!

Our group of 7 stopped with only an hour till closing and we were treated as honored guests. The service was excellent with no indication that we were imposing. Our waiter was welcoming, polite, and attentive without hovering. Our requests were filled completely. Everyone enjoyed the food with some minor exceptions. Personally I found the steak to be delicious and exactly as I ordered it. This goes on the list of places I will visit again. Few places are perfect and there was room for improvement but overall it was a satisfying experience.
