The staff was great..what I order was ok, steak was little over done, but everything easle was good...
I love the old Whiskey River environment. Food is good, drinks are good, staff is great! I'd recommend doing something about getting a water filter, your ice water doesn't taste very good at all... I would imagine that would make the soda pop, ice, etcetera taste nasty too.
My family and I went her today 12/28/19 and we loved it. I grew up in New Ulm and we made regular trips to whiskey river quite often and have sorely missed it. I love that you can look at all the birds while enjoy a nice meal. This is new restaurant is much different in menu and food style but its going to be its a new and different restaurant. You need to go in with that mind set that this is a clean slate new owners new menu ect. I loved the southwest spuds its super unique to them. They are a cheese filled tater tot with jalapeno mixed it not spice but super good flavor. They have popcorn, super fresh peanuts and a wide menu selection. The salads are large in portion and fresh. The soup was homemade warm thick and savory made with high quality ingredients. I felt the prices were very reasonable. It was about 70 bucks for four of us to eat which is pretty standard for me my husband and my parents to eat. Large portions we brought plenty home. The water complaints I have seen in other reviews made sense once we tried it. Its has a different taste and always has its well water and some people hate it some people love it. If you dont like it shut up and order a beer I say lol jk. Truly though they have a wide variety of other beverages to choose from and there are a love of local people who love the well water.
It was fine. I was a fan of the former restaurant, and was hoping for a family diner. The views are still fantastic. The menu is bar and grill. My burger was thin and over cooked, the parmesan fries lacked parmesan, so not off to a great start.. The water is well water. It was packed at noon on Saturday, and its the same rustic building which is nice, next to nothing new but some paint and TVs, and it completely lacks the sports bar vibe. The tag line should be deer and day drinkers.
