Is this an abandoned building? No it’s a Taco Johns... hard to describe why you would visit a Taco Johns. Are you hungry, lonely, or deprived? Okay, I was hungry. Only person in the fast food joint. Welcoming staff and fast service. Food was just okay and served its needs. Clean bathrooms too.

Let me preface this by saying the four star review is based on comparing Taco John's to other similar fast food restaurants. While most fast food hamburgers taste like ground up pieces of hockey puck, the two fast food options I think are fairly reliable are Chinese Chow Mein and Mexican fast food. Today I saw a commercial for dollar tacos on Tuesdays at Taco John's and thought I would give it a try. Predictably, the tacos were pretty decent. Where they have stepped up their game is in the addition of a condiment bar. Remember those little packets of mystery sauce they used to have at Taco John's that would leave one scratching his head wondering what the heck is in this stuff? That has been replaced, at least at this location, with a condiment bar where you pour your sauces into a little plastic cup and take it back to your table. The sauces actually have tomato chunks in them and they range from mild to hot. They even have sliced jalapenos for the brave-hearted. I tried some of the mild sauce and it was actually pretty dang good. I will have to add Taco John's to my short list of acceptable fast food.
