Portillo's Hot Dogs

Great environment and menu options ! It was my first time and I didn't know the best way to order. I got the roast beef sandwich with sweet peppers, dry--not knowing I ordered it that way. Probably would have tried it with sauce or dipped next time, or tried one of their other specialty items !

A taste of Chicago. Authentic hot dogs, good hot beef sandwiches, solid fall off the bone but not mushy ribs. Slightly sweet, not overpowering sauce. Surprisingly good salads, and a delicious strawberry shake. Relaxing dining with friendly staff. Even a draft beer if you want.

Thank you for coming to Minnesota. I love this place more then words. I miss my second home in the second city, quick big beef and a cheese fry and I’m home. Fantastic staff! Manager was super polite and helpful after a missing item. Always recommend to anyone that will listen.

Food is good and worth the wait... which there always is one. We went on Halloween night and brought our niece in. Though the food took forever, and they forgot multiple small things... it was still delicious. And I’m really only writing this review because the employee, Jerry, was working his butt off and making sure everyone was happy! He really deserves a shoutout (and a raise)! Thanks Jerry for being so sweet to our niece and making sure our experience was great!

The Italian beef and combo(with the sausage) sandwiches were good. They both had American cheese and peppers added. The Maxwell street polish was excellent! Nice snap to the polish. My hunny had the chili cheese dog and he wanted to go back immediately. Sorry no photos. We started eating!!???? We got the strawberry shortcake and the chocolate eclair cake. Both were good, but the eclair cake was the BOMB. I will definitely get that again.
