I highly recommend checking out Hodges Bend, particularly for brunch. The breakfast burrito was great and the Japanese Cold Brew was probably the best cold brew I’ve had. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy and did think it needed a bit more salt. That would be the one fault we encountered. I hope to return for some of their creative sounding cocktails.
Hodge's Bend has a beautiful ambiance that helps showcase their great cocktail selection. I stopped in for brunch and had a few dishes off their menu. Nothing was crazy, but there was definitely nothing to complain about. I'd consider going back in the future for dinner.
Why have I not heard of this place before?! We were looking to stop in someplace for coffee before going to dinner on Saturday night and this popped up on our Google Maps. This is much more than coffee shop! First, great atmosphere and incredibly nice staff. Second, they have a full bar and artisan mixed drinks. Third, they have a decent menu and really good food. We ended up ordering an appetizer (which was great), but I saw mouthwatering-looking food at nearby tables. The deviled eggs...soooo good! We also ordered coffee and a couple of mixed drinks (mule and coffee martini). Both were excellent and the coffee super smooth. We will definitely be back for dinner.
Parking: on street, but we had no trouble. The green line light rail also has a stop right across the street.
Love the service and the chill atmosphere. The latte I had was very good and I'm glad they had non dairy options- oat and almond milks. I got the full Reuben sammich and it was huge. Served with a reasonable amount of fresh cut fries, it definitely fills you up got several hours. I liked that the sauerkraut seemed to be made in house and wasn't too overwhelmingly sour. The one critique I had was that the sammich was a bit salty and greasy. Will I come back? Of course. Will I get the Reuben again? Eh likely not.
This is a lovely, cozy and hip spot. Perfect place to grab a drink with friends. The decor was cool, well thought out, & the menu was impressive. Photo included of their proper table lined with wine racks, but not the cool yellow booths where we actually sat. Lots of coffee drinks & cocktails. Was a bit pricey for food and true alcoholic drinks and the staff seemed a bit out of their element, but did take quite good care of us.
