I will start this review by saying I am Haitian and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. So my experience with Jamican food runs very deep.

Ordered the curry chicken, curry goat, oxtail and jerk chicken. Although the jerk chicken was more like a stewed jerk chicken, rather than cooked traditionally, which is grilled over coals, it was the best dish we had out of the bunch. It was flavorful and good. The hot pepper sauce was super fresh and hot - really good.

The other dishes could have used a bit of salt to bring out the flavors, but that just might be the preferred flavor palette in Minneapolis. From my perspective, if you have no experience with Jamaican food then you might think the food is great. If you do, then you might want to skip.

    Wonderful customer service though!!

This place is just wonderful! And real Jamaicans are cooking the food. Sundays they have brown stew chicken that you absolutely must have. But if you go in any other day everything else is just as excellent. I have to go back again to have a red snapper, but the oxtail the jerk chicken the curry goat the curry chicken all of these are so wonderful with flavor and not just topical seasoning.

Hope you enjoy it was much as I do. Post some pics of what you had!

The oxtails are my favorite! Cooked to perfection, falling off the bone as they should (meat shouldn’t have to be chewed long), and seasoned very well. I also had the red snapper which was prepared very well as well. I do hope the hours of operation change, with a later closing time(8pm would be great).

I give this restaurant a 5 out of 5. Customer service was excellent and very polite. Nice cozy establishment that made me feel like I was home. I really enjoyed that me curry chicken but the other food wasn’t to far behind. So for my over all experience at redd-peppers I couldn’t of had it go any other way. Keep up the good work!
