Loved this place when we went a few months ago - and got takeout yesterday which totally reaffirmed that. My spouse got the cuban-type sandwich which was superb. The mushroom and goat cheese soup was one of the BEST soup orders I've had in a long time. Creamy and rich with just a little kick for good measure. I want to go back again today for it. I had the beet salad, too, and it was fresh and well balanced. What a treat. We did take-away and it was ready within 15 minutes of ordering - well packaged and still hot. Easy ordering online, too. Thanks for the Friday date night treat, Waldmann!
Supremely delicious beer that is made with very thoughtful, authentic recipes that distinguish themselves from more contemporary local breweries. The sausages and sides are all excellent as well. Lastly ambiance of the historic space makes it both welcoming, impressive and distinct. A great place to come for a low key meal, date night or bring the whole family!
I absolutely love this place. It's in a historic building, with lots of historical pictures. The owner is happy to chat about the history. They have great beers, made better with homemade syrups. For non-drinkers, you make your own soda with the homemade syrups. They have a kitchen and offer German food which is great.
They also have events and a great outdoor area. We went to a Euchre tournament on Monday which was really fun! We've also attended a few outdoor events in the past year. This is a great place, made even better by the excellent staff. The owner is a genuinely nice guy who is very friendly.
There is on-street parking, which hasn't been a problem for us in the past.
The menu planner knows what they're doing! Pairing a flight with literally any meat or cheese platter.. oh my goodness this place is good! Sitting at an old and probably haunter table, by candlelight, while it was snowing was such a sweet ambiance. I think for two people it came out to be close to $50. which isn't bad for a date. Would recommend.
Absolutely love this place! It's historical, decorated to the era, and all around fun. The food is amazing and service is the best in the area. I've been there with kids and without and had stellar experiences, always. Everything on the menu tastes great!
