Wonderful meals for Veterans today, on November 11th. They were specific meals, but some of the most favorites, not something "cheap". Excellent server Matt, speedy times getting the food, and best of all, it all tasted great! Thank you Applebee's for blessing our Veterans!
Our server, Heather, was helpful and attentive. The Oriental Salads were excellent and the margaritas, of course, were Perfect. :) We always enjoy this location.
Applebee's is one of our "comfort" restaurants as really know what to expect and we like the food. Our typical meal is a 2 for 20-something where I tend to get the Fiesta Lime Chicken and the missus gets the 8 oz. Sirloin (such as tonight). Other faves are the whiskey burger, the parmesan shrimp and steak, or chicken tenders. Our server tonight was top-notch and very attentive, we wish we could remember her name. Unfortunately, the sirloin was a bit on the tough side, which normally would account for the loss of one star but we're overlooking that thanks to the larger-than-usual sundae shooter. Glad to have this restaurant in our neighborhood.
My husband and I stopped for a quick bite around 10 pm Friday to share some appetizers. The food and service were both very good. Upon leaving we saw an elderly man collapsed on the sidewalk near the road, unknown how long he had been there. He was confused and his hands were freezing.
The reason I am bringing this up is because when we helped this man into the restaurant to warm up and call the police, the bartender who helped us was caring and wonderful. As soon as I told him what the plight of the elderly man was he a quickly went in the back to tell the manager to call the police. When he returned he had a cup of hot chocolate in his hands. What spoke volumes about his humanity was the simple act of putting a couple of small ice cubes into the cup so the man could drink it right away without burning his mouth. I left only after this young man said he would stay with the older man until the police arrived.
I wish I would have looked to see what the bartender's name was so I could share it with everyone who might read this. With the way the world is now, he exibited the goodness that still exists in people.
Had great service, food came out fast. My only issue was with my dish, four cheese mac n cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders. Was served with the chicken tenders on top and there was WAY to much honey pepper sauce mixed in with the mac n cheese. I couldn't eat it, just too much and it ruined the dish for me. Our server asked if i wanted another dish with it on the side but I decided not to. Everything else was great, we would go back.
