Doc Witherspoon's Soul Food Shack

Placed a large order within an hour of closing.. got the bucket of fried chicken, southern mac, greens, cornbread and fries. Everything was delicious! Got our food to go, but really liked the atmosphere. We'll be back for sure next time we're in town!

love the cornbread donuts, so thick and moist. The fired chicken was extremely juicy and melt in your mouth on the inside and crispy and golden on the outside. The dirty fried rice was so good, great flavors. The soul Mac was so creamy and sweet it was so delicious and scrumptious. The barbecue beans were so flavorful and the homemade barbecue sauce just made it that much better! No words to describe how amazing this place is. The staff is friends and kind. Such a wholesome place.

Wonderful place. We had catfish, cornbread dressing, mac and cheese, dirty rice! All was excellent! We will definitely be going back. We loved hearing the story from what I assume the owner about his parents and there cooking! Thank you for a great meal!

First off, the food was so good. We stopped at the tesla charging at the holiday Inn across the street and my son found this place. I was skeptical.

The food was outstanding, the owner was so nice. We talked about a few things and the history of the place. He does a lot of work in the Duluth black community. Happy to support his work. One of the best meals I've had in quite s while.

So much better than spoons. This is the right place to go to. Hopefully they'll be open for dinner soon but lunch is very quick and efficient. The collards were great, the chicken is fantastic.
It looks like they opened up the wall between the pioneer bar and the restaurant. I'm assuming that you can order food and bring it over to the bar if you want your chicken with beer. 😘
