Vanilla Bean Restaurant - Duluth

The crepes were good, however, the omelet came with Kraft singles melted on top. Maybe shred some fresh cheese instead?

Our first visit to this restaurant was fairly lukewarm ... I mean this somewhat literally. I ordered the Scandinavian Breakfast, and while it was tasty, it was on the chilly side. My husband wanted a cinnamon roll ... out of them. OK, a caramel roll ... out of them. OK. This was about 10:30am ... so not the crack of dawn, but not 2:00 at a restaurant that touts an all day brunch service, either. The waitress explained that they sell out of them quickly ... which begs the question, “why not order or bake more?” I mean, it’s a cinnamon roll, not prime rib. Anyway ... our waitress was friendly enough, but service was slow with a non-capacity house. Waited 15 min just to get our bill back. Coffee was strong and hot and good. Menu had some good offerings I would like to try, but may try the original location next time. I would recommend based on the offerings, but I, personally, anticipated better. Maybe it was just a bad day?

Very satisfying late lunch today! I had a cup of the wild rice soup with a side salad (which was freshly made and not just some premade mix from a bag). My fiancé had the Reuben sandwich and thought it was very good. Our server David was kind and prompt. Good food and less busy than trying to eat in the Canal Park area. Would stop by again for sure!

I have been eating at, and loving, the Two Harbors location, and now Duluth/Mt. Royal location, for several years, and always enjoy it. The food, especially breakfast items, are very good. And they have a nice variety of hot tea and coffee drinks which are yummy also! Plus, I appreciate all the gluten-free and “healthier” options!
