Ely Steak House

This is by no means the fanciest steakhouse out there, but we did not mind the casual vibe. My husband got the salad to start, which was a good, but pretty basic garden salad. I got the cheddar wild rice soup, and it was hands down the best soup I’ve ever had in my life. I would do almost anything to get my hands on that secret family recipe! My husband ordered a steak for his entree with a side of steak fries, which he said were very good. I ordered the chargrilled chicken breast, which came with wild rice and was topped with a sort of honey mustard sauce. The chicken was moist, the wild rice was cooked perfectly, and the sauce made the dish very flavorful. I would love to come back to visit Ely and eat here again!

Casual atmosphere & good food. Cheesy wild rice soup is excellent, as well as the north woods walleye. Kids menu 6oz steak was very good.

Yummy food! I ordered the Garden Burger and will order again. My fiancé ordered the famous Bucky burger, which is messy but they bring extra napkins!

We were able to get in on a summer Friday night with short notice reservations. Masks were required when not seated and all of the servers wore masks. Hand sanitizer was available at the entrance but didn't see it until on the way out. Service was pretty slow but our server was friendly and helpful. Tables were distanced inside but still very full with patrons. Good food but not truly steakhouse quality.
