Monmouth Historic Inn & Gardens

Had dinner here. It was excellent. The dining room was GORGEOUS. The whole place was gorgeous. Food was delicious. Service was great. a married couple served us they were very nice and helpful. There is a separate bar room that was neat and they had good drinks while we waited to be seated. the place is filled with historic artifacts etc, a family cemetery, pond, wedding alter, pretty lights. I got many good selfies for Instagram. Zero complaints

(+) Astonishing historical main house from 1818. A very well, huge beautiful prepared garden which is getting a lot of care and love. The staff was amazing friendly and helpful. (-) The buildings and the rooms need to be restored as soon as possible. Wooden windows and doors are absolutely out of shape, so much, that you need to close doors by lifting them up or use more force than usual. The slots between the doors are getting bigger and bigger (mosquitos in the room). The painting on all the woodwork (stairs, windows, facade, doors, ...) is so old, that it is barley there anymore - the wood is suffering because the protection is gone... So sad for these beautiful buildings. Bed mattress was very old and so soft, that we slept like a banana. Price/Value for the rooms is therefore poor...

Wonderful oasis with comfy rooms and large gardens to explore.
Reception service was excellent. Breakfast service fell short of expectations though food was good. Need more than one night to really do it justice.

Shondra our bartender/waitress made what was already an amazing visit even better. Her attention to detail and overall helpful attitude and professionalism is in keeping with the highest standard of her profession. A wonderful and romantic experience for my wife and I. Thanks a million

Amazing rooms, amazing views, and amazing staff! We had such an awesome weekend. The wife and I booked a Romantic Getaway and they checked all our boxes. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating.

We enjoyed the 1818 restaurant and the house tour given by Mrs. Ivy who was so wonderful and knowledgeable about the history of the home.

The staff took care of booking our carriage tour we took, and gave use great ideas for other things to do while in town.

We will definitely be back.
