Murky Waters BBQ - Hattiesburg

Wow... what a hidden gem! I have worked in downtown Hattiesburg for years but never noticed this place right up the road. My wife and I heard it was really good so we chose it for a date night a few weeks ago, and man was I not disappointed! Amazing food, nice atmosphere, and fair prices... I highly recommend!

This place was absolutely fantastic. One of the best bbq’s I’ve had during my travels. Starting from when we walked in, from the appetizers, to the server, tender meats, most definitely will recommend! We had an awesome Server name Brandon, he completely went above and beyond making our experience that much better. You can not beat great food on top of wonderful service, you rock Brandon!

The food had soul- the service had no heart. I had to literally take my drink (Coke) to the bar to get a refill. The catfish was from frozen filets. The BBQ was - not bad. The brisket could have been cut thinner and was dry. As was the pulled chicken. I mean D. R. Y. The absolute best part was the sweet potato fries. Maybe an off night but if I was a betting person I would say this place could benefit from a good manager. There was no cohesiveness.

Murky Waters is the best. Hands down !
