Murky Waters BBQ - Bay St. Louis

Wow! Lots of details to explain here. First, we loved it. Our favorites: the thick bbq sauces, the beans, the lean cut brisket, the pork nachos, the smoked-then-grilled meats (this is really the pinnacle of the place), particularly the wings. Fantastic!!
The mac n cheese and fries were okay, but this was definitely my favorite food on our whole trip, which even included Memphis, so I'm impressed.
Coke products. Our waitress, Shelby, was delightful!

After a day at the beach, I let my girlfriend pick between barbecue and the seafood place next door and she chose Murky Waters.

I'm very particular about food (I hate the title Foodie, but I live in New Orleans so it is baked into the cake). I have to say that I was so impressed with my meal at the restaurant. I had the burnt ends with a side of potato salad and collard greens. The size of the meat portion was beyond generous. I can say that the spicy sauce was one of the top 3 barbecue sauces I've had in my entire life. It was enough to give you a tingle, but did not sting your tongue. The potato salad was great. I suspect that is due to the chef adding sour cream to the mix. The collard greens were smokey, but I felt that they were slightly over salted.

I do not make it over to the Mississippi Coast very often, but when I do you can bet that Murky Waters is going to be on my list of places to eat.

The food is delicious and you definitely get your money's worth. The portions are generous.

This place was just delightful 😊. The music was amazing and the food was as good as the music. The music and calming atmosphere made the food better. Good God, was that BBQ Good. Slap ya mamma Good. This is a place you must go. I hated to miss the live performance 😪 😕 but I was with my daughter, who hasn't tapped into this side of herself. 18 yr olds. I will definitely come back when I'm on an adult trip to enjoy food drinks & music. Let me not brag on the staff attentive and kind. Also talkable about the area and other must go places.

The food was superb and so was the service. This place would get 6 stars if I could give them! We shared a 2 meat platter and there was plenty for both of us to get stuffed. Smoked wings were delicious and cooked perfectly. The half nachos was plentiful as well. Our waitress was helpful when we couldn’t decide what to get. She gave us great service and even brought out an extra platter for us to divide our food on. Loved the atmosphere here - Blues music was playing and we sat outside during perfect weather.
