The fish fillets were very small and thin. You were getting mostly batter. We ordered the fried pickles. Again mostly batter and no pickle at all. They tasted like batter. Awesome biscuits and hush puppies though. For what you pay for (17.95) each it has a lot of room for improvement. It used to be a way better experience when they served the thick catfish steaks where you actually got fish with the batter. Very nice atmosphere though.

One of the first places I tried when in Gulfport was Catfish Charlies. I'm from the American Southwest. There isn't much southern comfort food available there. Charlies was recommended to me by a local. I have to say, out of the six years I spent in the local area, Charlies had by far the best catfish. They also offer fried chicken if fish isn't your thing. The place was always clean and I felt the staff was always welcoming.
