Seafood gumbo is amazing! As a matter of fact, I haven’t had anything yet that I didn’t like.

Definitely a cool place with a nice atmosphere. The decor on the walls was a nice touch that told the history of the building and the town. We were seated right away. Hayden was our server, the young man was very good for his age. He was knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely polite, respectful, and attentive. As a restaurant manager, I critique from a different perspective than most. I asked if I could try the bacon pimento cheese with pork rinds and he obliged with no problem. It was a very good, unique flavor combination. I love seeing things on a menu that I have never seen before and that one was definitely a hit. The chef has great taste. Next was the turkey tamales OMG I just started eating tamales about a year ago so I haven't had a lot but these were the best I've had, moist and perfectly seasoned, served with hot sauce and sour cream. My husband ordered the 16 oz ribeye with loaded backed potato ($35) it was a thin cut of meat but was cooked to perfection. He complimented the fact that the meat was quality without fat and grissel and that it tasted good without alot of seasoning. I had the redfish pontatrain with lump crab, shrimp and Cajun cream sauce ($31) It was the perfect portion for me but may had been skimp for someone who has a larger appetite. The Cajun cream sauce was unique, it had mushrooms and was like no other cream sauce I've tasted which I like. The redfish was slightly overcooked but overall it was good. My sides were parm cheese stone ground grits which were the perfect pairing and a salad which surprisingly came standard with blue cheese. My only gripe is the price for the portion but will definitely go back because of the quality.
