I was in the area on business during the summer of 1970 - I always remembered this place. They had a buffet business mans lunch with all the seconds you wanted with iced tea for $1.25. These were the best tasting lunches ever had - nothing like southern cookin! The dinners were excellent too. I know this is ancient history - I lived the at Longfellow House which is mostly gone know - sorry to see that.
This place was amazing!! We weren’t sure because it was a bit off the beaten path and atmosphere was quiet with a small town feel. The service was fantastic and the food was phenomenal. We had the fried green tomatos, tiki steak sandwich (HIGHLY RECOMMEND), blackened shrimp po boy, gumbo and kid’s cheese burger (also highly recommended by my 6 year old)! Everything was superb. Definitely worth the stop!!
The food was great! Had a long day at work and been craving catfish all day. Got some fried catfish with a sweet potato, and it really hit the spot! Seasoned just right! And the sweet potato with the cinnamon sugar was perfect. The girl who greeted me at the door was sweet and helpful, and Pashie was also very sweet and helpful on the phone. I placed my order while driving without even knowing the menu (having never been to Tiki before). Pashie made the process simple and fast and also gave me all the right condiments and got my food out to me quickly. Will definitely recommend Tiki to my friends after this experience.
I love this place and the atmosphere. The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. I had the French Dip and it was fantastic! A very cool place with lots of history and great eats. It's a real treasure that's a little off the beaten path but totally worth your time to visit.
