Lechonera El Flamboyan

Found by lucky accident, just driving by. I haven’t had much Puerto Rican food and was very happy with my selection of the chicken special. Chicken and seasoned yellow rice. Wonderful. My husband had pork and rice. The seating is outside picnic tables but well maintained and clean. Service was very friendly and helpful.

Everything was delicious, the mofungo, the pork and tostones! Drove from Mobile to eat here. Definitely worth the drive.

Loved this place ❤! Staff was very friendly & was so patient with us. The special of the day that my sister tried, steak with 2 sides (seasoned yellow rice & potato salad) was fabulous. Portion size was huge for price. (2 meals in 1)
The shrimp salad had alot of shrimp & the salad dressing was amazing, but the portion size did not fit the price.
However the atmosphere, the staff friendliness, the taste of the food, all make it worth the trip back.
Just know, the seating is mostly outdoor, there is some indoor seating. We choose to sit outdoor since it was a beautiful day.
Go by & experience the great food! ??

We drive down to the Gulf area a couple of times a year to visit the casinos. Being born and raised in PR, I decided to give this place a try because they seem as the only authentic one (100% Boricua) in the area. I was amazed by how good the food was. It tasted like home. It had the right seasoning, the customer service was excellent, and the ambiance great. They do served a lot of food, so come hungry. We will be back here on our next visit.
