Weidmann's

We just did a search for a nearby restaurant while traveling and this was the first on the list. We read the menu, the reviews and a bit of the atmosphere description—- historic —— and decided it would be a lovely place for lunch. We were so very pleasantly surprised and delighted!!! The food for all of our party was spectacular in taste and presentation, the menu offered a wide variety of options . Our server, Nicole, was professional , personable and delightful!!
We’re already planning a return visit soon from my home In Tuscaloosa. Well done!!!!

Great service, the waiter was really friendly and attentive. The yeast rolls were so good.
I ordered the fire cracker salmon and I expected a little spice on it but turns out it was more like a sweet and sour, kind of like the taste of Chinese sweet and sour chicken. LOL. The sauce overpowered the taste of the salmon and the spinach casserole on the side wasn’t that great.
My partner ordered the Chicken St. Francis. It was creamy but bland as were the grits on the side.
The crab cake was good as our appetizer.
The peanut butter and crackers is a bit quirky but carries on a long standing tradition which makes it unique. We had the Cake Bread Cellars Chardonnay that was good.
We’ve been to this place before and this was the first time that we left unsatisfied.

Atmosphere when you walk in is sophisticated and put together yet not too fancy. This phenomenal restaurant is established in Meridian for good reason! Hostesses and servers were friendly, informative, and punctual. Menu is vast but not confusing or over the top. Many cocktails and beer choices. The air is filled with tantalizing aromas as food is carried to tables. When the shrimp tortellini finally came--my goodness! I have never tasted a dish so well cooked and thought out. So flavorful. The textures were perfect. I wish I could eat at Weidmann's every day. Oh and, the tuxedo creme brulée is a beautiful way to end a meal! Will be back. Thank you to their staff!

Definitely wish I could have ordered more. We got a scallop to share and it was standard, came with shredded carrots and the flavors were good. For the entree, we shared 4 entrees: the vegetable dish, a shrimp dish, pork dish, and salmon. Out of all of these, the salmon was above and beyond. The edges were crispy but the inside was just cooked perfectly. We also got free rum ice cream and this was also very good as well.

This is our second time stopping at Weidmanns and like our first time a very enjoyable experience. The decor and staff are welcoming. Food is classic southern delicious.
