Gumbo Spot

Dropped by this restaurant for the first time this evening and was very happy with my experience there. I really loved the interior decor, and the waitstaff was great. My daughter got the gumbo, and I had the tilapia with shrimp and crawfish in creamy sauce. This was one of the best meals I've had in a restaurant in a long time. Also, the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, and our meals arrived at our table very quickly. If you're looking for tasty Cajun food in the Jackson area, you can't go wrong with the Gumbo Stop. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

Great Gumbo and fabulous fried shrimp tacos. Catfish was also very good.

Took an early lunch today and there was no wait at 11am. We had the fried shrimp Po Boy, grilled shrimp entree, and chicken tenders kids meal. And took home a medium gumbo. Everything was great!! Good seasoning, fresh, hot and fast. If you live or work nearby, this is a great lunch option. They also serve dinner. Yum!

The owner is so nice! It was our first time eating here and he didn’t even charge us for our desert! I thought that was so kind and unexpected when I looked back at the receipt! The food is hot and fresh and it tastes wonderful! The place is also nice if you like peace and quiet! It’s not too packed and if I’m not mistaken most people do take-out from what I’ve seen so you can pretty much find a great spot to sit! This is definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to! 😊

The grilled tilapia with seafood topping is amazing. The shrimp tacos are great as well. The staff is super courteous and friendly. We will definitely be returning.
