We loved the place, it was our first time going there, but definitely won't be our last. The food was delicious and the service was great. They have a bunch of desserts in a case, like lemon squares, carrot cake, an assortment of cheesecake, blueberry flapjack cake, and more. There is a stage for live music near the back, as well as a store you can shop in while you wait for your food. Give them a try if you are in the area.
Had dinner at Foothills at 8pm on Saturday night. Had live music playing a good selection of different covers and a little comedy. I selected the Blackened Chicken Fettuccini and my wife had the sirloin. The food was generally good, however, the 'medium' steak was 'well' done and a little dry. The staff were helpful and prompt. Parking was fine but on a heavy day might be limited.
Nice looking restaurant with boutique style shopping throughout. Would cater well for last minute gift shopping. Some nights feature karaoke or live bands.
Our appetizer was pretty good: fried jalapenos and pickles. My husband ordered a pasta dish that he enjoyed. I had sirloin.. I ordered it cooked medium but it arrived well-done and was pretty dry. The cut was fairly thin, so it would be hard not to overcook. The sides were tasty: I had sweet potato casserole, and it was delicious; the brussel sprouts were lighty seasoned with only salt and pepper as far as I could tell, and tasted ok but I prefer more seasoning (a little more interesting than salt and pepper). My drink was mixed a bit too strong.
All in all, the food was ok, the venue was neat and clean, the service was excellent. The entertainment was a nice touch: you could sit either up close or farther away. We chose to sit where we could enjoy each other's company and the music was not too loud.
I did enjoy what I saw of the boutique items, but was not comfortable wandering near where people were seated to browse the things there.
Very nice little store and a good resturant. Food was satisfactory. Fish filets were kind of small and the tartar tasted a little much like dill pickles for me. The hamburger steak was great but the rice was sort of bland. Pork Chop was tender but it said it has a brown sugar so we thought it should have had sort of a sweet glaze but that was not the case. Normal chop. Kids meals definitely were about what you would expect from a school cafeteria. Place was very clean and the staff was on point. The live entertainment was great. We were there on 7/23 so I am not sure of the fellas name was but he was great.
Highly recommend The Foothills.
We found this place on google maps, and decided to give it a try.
Yaaaass is all I can say. We weren’t expecting such a cool dining/shopping experience in Forest, MS.
They’re serving up a wide variety of food ranging across traditional southern fare like hamburger steak, sweet potato casserole, burgers, as well as Angus Steaks, pasta, salads, redfish, an appetizer & drinks menu, and a case of gorgeous desserts that seem to vary daily.
The dining area is actually in the middle of the gift shop, so be prepared to want to spend a few minutes shopping around for a gift, a little something for your home, or a candle.
We’ve been back now several times, trying something new each time, and can honestly say with the exception of a piece of cake that turned out not to be our favorite flavor, everything from our service to our food has been two thumbs up.
