If you like a good buffet with down-home Southern cooking, this is definitely the place to go! Friendly staff and plenty of great food. Leave some room for the bread pudding to make everything just right.

If you are ever passing through Forest during lunch time, be sure to give the Garden Patch a go. Expect down-home Southern food such as fried chicken (crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside), roast beef in brown gravy, mashed potatoes, butter beans, fried okra, etc. Be sure to get a bowl of their soup, it's delicious. Desserts are very good as well, with such Southern staples as peach cobbler and banana pudding.
The buffet used to be self service but, with the expected precautions, your plate is prepared for you as you go down the line letting the very nice servers know what you would like. It is all you can eat so, don't be shy... go back and get another piece of that fried chicken and some more turnip greens.

Wow, where do I begin. This restaurant had the feel of being right at home. My father suggested it and I agreed to visit the place with him. I was weary at first but let me tell you, all of my worries were digested rapidly haha. For a good meal and a home like feel one can't go wrong dining here.

This is a great place for true southern food. The fried chicken was flavorful and juicy with a nice crunch and taste on the outside. Even better was the selection of vegetables, fried okra, stewed tomatoes with okra, field peas, collard greens, rutabaga and baby limas beans just like my Grandma used to make. They even had deserts but I was to full to try them. Everything was self serve but the tea which the waitress was constantly topping off. All this was only $11.50 before tax. You can't eat better anywhere.
