On my way home and needed a small cone. It was creamy and delicious.
I had not been to a Dairy Queen in a long while. It was a nice update.
We've been going to this DQ for several years, and one thing has been consistent 99% of the time - lack of service. The children running this store, with a handful of exceptions, act like they're being tortured to be at work, and that the customers are nothing more than an inconvenience. Yesterday's experience was another banner disappointment - blank stare from the boy taking orders, no greeting and no words at all after taking our money. We all see the self-serve kiosks showing up, and we try to avoid them since we prefer human contact, but the way folks are treated at this DQ makes us wish there was a kiosk here. We tried the chicken strips this time, and will not have them again since they were barely bigger than nuggets served at the store with the arches. Sadly, with a small population, there aren't multiple applicants to choose from for hiring employees, but from a customer service perspective, most of the children are pulling the owner's leg if they say they like people or are good at customer service. Bottom line--we keep going to this DQ because the food is good most of the time. We just need to lower our expectations for decent service. That's sad, since good service costs nothing.
