If I could give 10 stars I would! Great service and phenomenal food! I really like the shrimp and grits, fried chicken, fish, desserts....heck, EVERYTHING is great here! Yum! You have got to give it a try if you haven't yet, you'll love it!

In the category of "comfort food" cuisine, Jones Outpost is hands-down the best in the area; easily encompassing within a 100 mile radius. This place has the ability to succeed in a higher populated area but we're fortunate to have something so quaint and delicious, hiding in charming part of rural Missouri. I'm fortunate to pass by this establishment at least once a month and each time I stop to grab dinner, even if I'm early and have to wait for them to open. I've had at least a third of the entrées and nothing has disappointed. Portions are more than fair for the price. The complimentary "flower pot" loaf of bread and sweet butter is worth the visit. Be sure to get there when they open so the bread is fresh and warm. Even something as simple as the sweet tea is perfect. It's disappointing when a lot of other establishments can't get a simple thing like sweet tea right. Finally, the highlight of the restaurant isn't just the great food or outstanding service, but the choice in 80's music that's always being played from the kitchen area. Such good taste.

Love the food from the bread appetizer to all in between to the selection of wonderful deserts. I lived the homemade buttermilk pie!!! The owner is the bomb and directs his business like a fine tuned machine!!!!

In my top 5 places to eat but #1 for their fried catfish and chicken. Really I could go on and on about how much I love this place. My best suggestion is to plan a trip here from wherever you live across this great country and visit Jones Outpost. It is on the "Must Try Eats at The Lake of the Ozarks". If you’re looking for Missouri’s hidden gem, you’ve found it. My favorite thing in the world is finding a “mom & pop” type restaurant where the food blows you away. When I came here last year for the first time, I knew I had found it. Since then, it’s not so secret any longer because this place has been in magazines and all over social media but luckily they haven’t let it go to their head and they continue to make the best food in Missouri.
Be prepared to wait. Not because they’re slow but because their food is fresh and actually cooked to order. They take pride in literally every single dish. Every time I’ve come here they’ve had a different and unique item on special or a unique appetizer and they always impress. Trust me when I say it’s worth the wait.
If at all possible, leave room for dessert. You’ll know what I mean when you see them. These aren’t just “pies” or “cakes”, these are the most magnificent desserts I’ve ever had.
I would suggest something on the menu but I can’t. Every single dish I’ve ever had was amazing.
