Bayou Cajun Smokehouse

First time visiting since the new ownership, and I must say the food is still great! I got the smoked pulled pork sandwich with a side of “Tatties”, and my girlfriend got the “Biddy” baked potato. The value of the food is actually very good. I got a heaping mound of pulled pork for only $7.
On the other hand, the baked potato was a little underwhelming. Not much for what you pay ($12). I don’t recommend the baked potato’s as a meal.

Service was very good and the gumbo was excellent. Portion was far more than I could eat, and I am looking forward to reheating the balance for another complete meal. Friends had a burger and a salad, - everyone was pleased. We will return.

Thus place was very nice and cozy. Service was great, they were very friendly and helpful with explaining the menu or any questions we had. Portion sizes are rather huge so needless to say we left with food to go. Brisket was okay, wish it had more flavor, shrimp was very flavorful and so were the baked potatoes.

The gumbo was amazing!! Definitely worth the trip. Clean atmosphere, great food, and friendly faces.

Not trying to put down this restaurant in any way but I do have some concerns. The food is great and the restaurant looks great.
1. Keep the hostess by the front door or put up a sign that says wait to be seated. We were seated near the door and groups of people would come in and not seeing anyone started hanging over the tables.
2. The hostess was not around b/c she was cleaning tablets. She had a towel in a bucket of water. She would take the towel out of the water, drip water on her way to the table. Water is on the floor, the tables have puddles of water on them and then she dumps the cleaning towel back in the bucket.
3. No napkins or utensils were given to us untill we asked for them after our food finally came.
4. 1 hour wait for food.
5. Our server disappeared and we had to ask for our bill after a 15 minute wait.

Your food is great but the service needs improvement.
