Worth the tiny detour off US60. Huge portions and really delicious
If you are passing through. They have amazing breakfast food at any time.
Pictured is the western omelette but I asked if they could add hash browns to it…
Very happy with the quality and service!!
Had breakfast here after adventuring in Mark Twain National Forest, big portions, delicious.
When I arrived at this quaint spot after traveling out of my way, I was greeted with a sign on the door that they were sorry for the inconvenience but they were understaffed (just like the rest of the world). This establishment has approximately 40 seats available. There were 10 seats filled when my party of 3 arrived. Restaurant seemed cared for with the exception of dirty tables leaving us with one table to choose from. Waitress met us with a pout and after we proving we weren't going to be heathens a small smile appeared. Our lunch orders taken, restrooms located! Waitress approaches me after my restroom visit to tell me they are out of both the appetizers we ordered. No problem. Food arrives in timely manner and was pretty good. Portions generous and fries were crispy wonderful. I do not believe they were understaffed as I watched 5 different waitresses work the floor. Also watched 3 waitresses sit and count their tips and play on the square iPad while there were dirty tables and customers surrounding us with empty glasses. I was most disappointed with the lack of any manager type figure that would have probably fixed the general lack of concern attitude among the staff. Of course I have to guess who was staff because of no identifying uniform type inspirations even though they had t-shirts available for the customers to purchase.
7/17/21 ... We were looking for a place to grab a bite to eat before we went to see Big Spring. We asked around and were pointed in the direction of Spring House Cafe. We found the atmosphere to be inviting and rustic. The staff was friendly and helpful. And to go along with that, the food was pretty darn good. I would recommend this place without hesitation.
