Been going to Tortilla Flats since early 1990s. Has been my go-to Tex-Mex place north of the river ever since. Food is always great, served hot, with great service. And the spicy salsa will melt your brain. Great stuff. Highly recommend.

I’ve known the owner since 1966. But I can still be candid. I ate there a couple of years ago when visiting from my home state of Oklahoma. We know our Mexican here. The salsas and chips were fresh, excellent guacamole. The taco and burrito plate I ordered was very well spiced and flavorful....so in closing I would highly recommend you try Tortilla Flats, it just may become your go to place for great Mexican, drinks, service and atmosphere ????

I have been eating at Tortilla Flats for over 25 years. I love their food. My favorite are the Tacos, Tacos, Tacos. I get the chicken and it is always tender and not dry. They have several cheese dip options that are great. Their chips and salsa are great. We have never had poor service. The cooks get the food out quickly. Everyone has always been fantastic.

Casual Cuisine, what a great place for a TGIF Margarita! If you are looking for “fine dining” in a suit, you’ve come to the wrong place. If you are looking for Hot Food Fast, you’ve found it. I walked in, asked if I could be served at the bar, and was taken care of immediately. I sat down, watched my margarita being made, ordered 2-spinach pepper jack enchiladas — chips came moments after the margarita. Server asked if I liked my drink, it was perfect, and my food came within 5-minutes (if even) of placing my order. The vibe is “pop-Latino” — music is in Spanish, but pop-style made me feel like dancing. It’s not overly crowded, but enough of a lunch crowd you feel that “Friday Vibe”. My food was fantastic — watching my figure so the generous portions of spinach in the enchiladas are appreciated — 2-thumbs up! Patron Margarita with Grand Marnier, 2-enchiladas a la carte, home made salsa, and a bowl of chips as big as Texas = $15.13, reasonable for the quality, I will be back. The server checked on me as I finished my plate, cleared it away, asked if I liked the food, offered “anything else”, politely left my tab — her timing and demeanor were spot on. Not overly friendly, but professional and polite all the way. It looked like she was the only server and bar tender. She wasn’t “overworked”, but kept busy. Great place for a quick bite! Idk, the brass horse heads at the bar really did it for me, lol — FUN!

My wife, my son and I tried Tortilla Flats in the Northland for the first time on a recent Monday night. Monday is their taco night dinner special with beef tacos for $1.25 each. My wife and I ordered the deep fried tacos that were offered on the special. They were great tasting and STUFFED with ground beef, lettuce, cheese, diced tomatoes and green onions!! We also ordered the $2 - 12 ounce margaritas which were a happy hour special. My son passed on the Mexican choices and ordered a chicken breast covered in cheese sandwich ( I forget what it was called on the menu! ) with fries. It was a large chicken breast and he said it was very good!! The taco dinner special seemed popular because the restaurant was almost full at 4:30 pm when we arrived and they were waiting on tables when we left about 5:30 pm. I was impressed because everything seemed to be homemade from the tortilla chips served when we were first seated, to the mild and hot salsas which had chunks of tomatoes, to the French fries which appeared to be hand cut!! They also had Cholula hot sauce (my favorite!!!) and green Tabasco on each table to add a little heat to your taste!! The service was fantastic with Meaghan stopping several times to check on us. The menu was very reasonably priced with specials every night and numerous lunch specials!!! We will be back when we are in the area and try out some more items on the menu!! Highly recommended!!
