Maria's Mexican Restaurant

I was on a road trip back home and I wanted some Hispanic food.

The first thing I immediately noticed was the salsa tasted like pizza sauce.
Another commenter said the carne asada was like pot roast — it was.

But the bar is in a nice spot and the staff seem friendly. I would come here for a drink but not a steak taco...

There were aspects of this experience that I really enjoyed and then others that completely missed the mark for my tastes. I really liked the Traditional Margarita, made without margarita mix however the salt on my rim was way too fine for my liking. I got the Ultimate Sergio, a fried burrito that was shaped like a square, mind you, with a mix of chicken and steak. The burrito was fine served with your standard rice and beans, which were both ghastly. The beans were pinto and not refried and the rice was very bland with little to no seasoning.

Fabulous food per usual. Haven't been since before the pandemic and since we started weight watchers. We've both lost over 50#s so it was treat day. We don't eat anymore except as a treat. Maria's was worth a few extra calories. I had seafood tacos, yummy and my fiance had beef tacos.
