Best takeout/delivery Chinese cuisine in the metro area. Great prices. Good service.

First time here and ordered takeout. I got the Tofu Hunan Style. I'm always weary of going to new Chinese places because you never know what you're going to get. They were nice over the phone, made it fast, and had it hot and ready when we got there(which was earlier than they had estimated!) Only thing that went awry was that I had ordered steamed rice and we were down the road when I decided to open it up and make sure, and they had given me fried rice instead. I called and they had no problem switching it out. Took us 5 min to get back and they had the right rice ready, so just more attention to detail is what I'd recommend. Other than that, I'd definitely go back!!

We've eaten at several Chinese places in Independence. All are good, but Lao Peking is above the rest. We normally order take out. Portion size is excellent. Enough for two full meals. They make their own spicy mustard, you have ask for it otherwise you will just get the packages of mustard. They also make their own crab rangoon and their own egg rolls. Which makes them much better than the frozen ones.

Had a delivery order of sweet and sour chicken with chicken fried rice and side of dumplings(I thought was going to beef but was actually chicken, not my preference to say the least), which may be ignorance on my behalf. Sweet and sour chicken and rice was great, delivery was faster than expected and lady who answered phone and took my order was very nice. Would eat again except dumplings.

Great lunch specials! The Hunan chicken is very good! I love their hot and sour soup, crab Rangoon and the sweet and sour shrimp. Best Chinese American food in the metro. I can see why some people think the lady is rude, but honestly she is actually nice, her son?, helps out sometimes and he's really cute. I live in KC but drive to Independence for their food.
