Papu's Cafe

So I typed in on Google "Greek Restaurants near Independence, Mo". And sure enough this was the closest one. I had zero expectations, and an open mind because I've never really had Greek food before. And if I had I didn't remember. Anyways, I went through the drive-thru and I noticed the menu had many items I had never once heard of or tried and so I just ordered a few things, the Gyro Salad, the Greek salad and an order of the falafel and a baklava. Which by the way, they forgot, but went back later to get it and got an extra order on the house. So when I actually sat down and ate the food, I genuinely couldn't stop eating, it's like the food fell from heaven and the food God's blessed me with eternal 45 min of pure food joy and I ate literally all of it. ALL OF IT. And I'm usually not that hungry but, It was like crack was sprinkled in,(never had crack,never will). I literally chowed down and wanted to go back. Trust me it's worth the time and money!

Great restaurant. We ordered 4 platters and a hummus appetizer to go for 4 adults and a kid and it was plenty. The food was excellent and fresh. Plus, the staff were super friendly and very accommodating to us when we arrived. It’s tempting to eat here again two nights in a row.

Good value for the price. Family liked the appetizer plate. Good hummus. Nice inside. Good staff. For a quick Mediterranean meal, give it a try.

This place was absolutely wonderful! It’s not always easy to find vegetarian in Independence, however this had options both with meat and just vegetables. The hospitality was amazing! I got the hummus sandwich and it really hit the spot! My husband got the vegetable sandwich and really enjoyed it. When we were about to leave the owner came out to make sure we enjoyed our meal and offered us some delicious digestive tea. I cannot wait to eat here again!

The first time we tried Papu's it was delicious. The falafel was cooked to perfection and the meat was hot and juicy 😋 we've been back two more times since and it just hasn't been the same. I don't know if something changed but I just don't think we'll be returning. Sorry guy's 😞
