Gates Bar-B-Q

good food n fast service..i always get my bbq fresh n its always good..prices can be a problem if u dont want to spend on fresh fast good food..but its worth it..i highly recommend this place

Don't know why only 3 stars. I'm from Mem, , great BBQ there in Tenn. Love KC style, and for that style. Gates is awesome!!! We Sat at bar watching Tenn and KC. I thought it was strange but you couldn't order food at bar. Had to go to line and order then bring it to bar. But...no prob. Ok, gotta correct myself. After it slowed down bartender took our food order. I ordered a half slab, other order was the chicken. We also had to have an order of onion rings. Wow, I loved the ribs. The chicken got rave reviews. Good place.

Some of the nicest people I've met. Some food was great and mind-boggling, others food was ok. My fiancé was all over their BBQ sauce so we bought the gift set. Will be returning for sure!

I am from Louisville Ky.. and just happened to be in KC for work.. I was told this place was good... But they lied.... It Was Delicious... Good is an understatement!! Very friendly and helpful staff... They are always asking "How can I help you" I was asked 3 times in 3 different situations which really gave a welcoming vibe to the place!.. I had the Burnt Ends sandwich, baked beans, roasted potatoes and for good measure, I threw in two rib bones... Yummy yummy yummy..

Did I eat it all???... of course not!!! But now I have some for lunch tomorrow.. win, win!!!

Excellent weekday lunch (11a-2p) special: $5.95 burnt ends and sliced meat sandwich, with fries! Excellent taste and very filling. Loved it. Also, the staff members were nice, hospitable and friendly. Looking forward to my next visit!
