Opal N Blue’s by Chef Jah

I ordered a fish sandwich combo, the first sandwich I've bought in my life I think. It was really good! Very flavorful. Will definitely come back again and try everything else on their amazing menu.

Hidden in an old building in an old part of town my wife, my son and I found something truly amazing. Opal and Blue's has an experienced and passionate chef who serves up love with every dish of Ox Tails and Lamb Steak. Every dish served is prepared with a Chef's love of food, with flavors refined and perfectly blended. I'm fantasizing about the turnip greens right now.

I have never had turnip greens that tasted anything like that before, so full of spices and the beauty of greens. The same was true of everything else, the cornbread, the Turkey leg, the peach cobbler. These are dishes one can get at lots of restaurants, yet you will never have had them made for you like Chef Jah.

There is no ambiance at this restaurant yet because the place is still very new. It will take a minute for them to finish that side of the restaurant. But the food is world-class and it is possible to get this food right now in Kansas City. I still can't believe we found this place.

Chef Jah is a top chef. Me and my parents loved everything on our plates we ordered. I got the ox trail dinner with mashed potatoes. So I'd recommend that; you won't regret it.

Im a very big local foodie/I try “hole in the walls/trucks/stands etc” and Texas has held my heart for most of the food I’ve devoured….Opal N Blues is the first KC joint that I would be proud to recommend as a Kansas City secret. Wings? On point. Dripping with spices and honey with the perfect crunch. Black Mamba pasta? An incredibly earthy and warm. You remembered my employees name when the came in and I immediately received a text from her informing that she would come here every day simply for the atmosphere you gave off….What more can I say? Honestly? Chef and company…y’all kill it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

They have the best vegan food I've had in a LONG time. We got the vegan poboy, vegan lasagna, vegan gumbo, and vegan cupcakes. Not only was the food delicious, but everyone here was so nice. You can taste the love!!! I will definitely be back.
