The food is excellent. The espresso drinks are delicious and you actually get what you pay for (my large mocha came in a mug the size of a soup bowl). The staff is friendly. A hidden Kansas City gem. Try the breakfast flat bread.... You'll thank me later.
We have come into the habit of going to You Say Tomato almost every weekend! It is really such good food, and we like the hippy-dippy feel inside. Everything is handmade and the coffee is spectacular! Plan a little extra time since things are made as you order them and this takes time! Definately give them a shot!
Local spot with fresh and homemade breakfast foods and coffee. You Say Tomato is a delightful spot to stop for a coffee and some quality time or grab some fresh produce from their store section. With a quaint and reuse, reduce, recycle environment you can feel good about going here and supporting a local business for your daily coffee run. Went for breakfast with friends and had the cinnamon roll (highly suggest) and the croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon. They also have a communal coffee station with real mugs.
This place does comfort food like it should always be done. Our favorites like breakfast casserole, breakfast burrito, spicy cheese grits, and french toast make us wonder what other places are missing. Good prices and huge portions. Busy in spring and summer, with long waits at peak time. Winter off-season you can get right in. Highly suggest. Would be surprised if you're not delighted.
This place is a hidden gem. You can easily drive by it and think it's a closed down building. The decorations are without purpose and random, not in the hipster cool way but in the I have some junk let's use it way. Once you push aside those variables and just judge the place on their menu and food, prepare to be impressed. Everything my wife and I ordered was absolutely amazing. Ingredients are very fresh and whole feeling/tasting. Seasoning is done with thought and intent. The corned beef is some of the best I have ever had. The biscuits are 100% hand made. I would grab breakfast or brunch here any day and recommend others do the same. They need to work on their building/image some for future long term success though.
