The food at KC Baby Back Ribs is some real good BBQ, but the staff here are the real meat and potatoes. Friendly, fast, humble and wonderful, they've never failed to treat me wonderfully. I'm generally nervous to go places, but here I always feel welcome, and full of great BBQ by the time I leave.
Friendly waitresses. I had the 3 meat combo platter. Ribs, pulled pork & Smoked sausage. Meats were smoky as to be expected. Ribs are "bite off the bone" but not tough. Pulled pork was s little dry. Sausage was fine. Cajun potato salad was flavorful, but not spicy hot. Cheesy corn was like creamed corn but with cheese flavor. BBQ sauce was smoky-sweet. Hot BBQ sauce was spicy, but not "burning" hot. Overall, a good meal. Dining inside or out.(covered area)
Staff was super friendly. Outdoor eating area was comfy. But here are the real determinations of a BBQ place. Price and quality of food. Price is a bit high, but it’s off a remote exit outside KC so not unexpected. I got a pound of burnt ends. They were fresh cut and still quite dry. No flavor really so it was reliant on the sauce. Personally I think good BBQ should be able to stand on its own without the sauce.
Great little bbq place in a converted gas station right off the interstate. Great ribs and fantastic pulled pork. Top notch service, friendly staff and shaded outdoor seating and indoor seating. Three different sauces. Definitely somewhere you should stop in. People who complain about this place had a far different experience than I did. It makes me wonder if they are just crabby people.
