The pizza here is always fantastic. The servers are upbeat. I love that you can ask for a certain kind of pizza to be made for the buffet and, if there are ingredients for it, it gets made. The crust is wonderful and whatever toppings are on it taste great every time.

I gave them a 4 star. But honestly, that is simply because it was maybe the best pizza I have ever had. HOWEVER, I would not recommend eating there. Just call it in and pick up! We had a group of six there Thursday night. The front area was full when we arrived but they said there was plenty of room in the back. And there was. There are long wooden picnic benches that they apparently purchased from a preschool. The seat boards are maybe a foot off the ground. However we all squeezed in to one of them. This back room is basically a wood shed (I will get back to that in a moment). It had absolutely no insulation, simply a single piece of barn tin separating you from the elements on all three sides and the roof! That is not an exaggeration! There is a really good heater out their and it literally would set you on fire. I think they use it to keep your pizza warm as it sits on your table. It would run for 5 or 10 minutes solid and roast you to death. Then it would turn off and you were immediately freezing. It is a very uncomfortable cycle you must endure if you visit on a cold day! Our pizza arrived very quickly in my opinion, in about 10 minutes or so. However the half of the pizza I ordered was made incorrectly. Instead of beef and onions, it was beef and mushroom. The waiter apologized and then said he would have me another one made. Excellent problem solving service. It was about this time we discovered we were in the before mentioned wood shed. Because right about then, they received their fuel delivery of more than a cord of wood. The back of the shed was opened over and over while the supplier rolled wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of small chopped wood in and stacked it all within few feet of where we sat and tried to have a conversation. The rest of the group visited and ate their respective pizza while I waited for my dinner.
After nearly 30 minutes, I decided to weed my way through the wood stacking competition and see if I could find my pizza. When I made it up front the waiter saw me and said it is just about to come out. Again, it was very good pizza! When we received the bill at the end of the night, it was obvious we had either had the most expensive fountain drinks in the world or they charged us for the refills. So obviously not knocking your Pizza or tying to give them a bad star count etc. But my advice get it to go!

We stopped in Joplin while on a road trip. We asked a cashier in a local store who she thought had good pizza in the area. She recommend Woody's. It was good advice. The place looks a little "rustic" inside and out. But the pizza was indeed worth the stop. The menu had several other items besides pizza that that sounded really good .

Went in about 2pm on Saturday. Only about three tables occupied, getting busy when we left about 3pm. Not much beer selection on tap but had some good choices as well as good bottles to choose from.

Ordered a pizza to share and was very happy. Crust is on the thin side, substantial and a bit chewy. We had the pizza with pretty much everything on it - sausage had good spiciness and the pepperoni came out crispy on the pie. Veggies were fresh and the toppings were generous.

Good place to get a pizza and beer. We'll try to go back sometime when they have their Buffet.

Pretty quaint little spot. Inside has a capacity of about 25 patrons. Patio will hold a bit more. The pizza kinda has a "frozen pizza" vibe to it, though. Very clearly commercially made crusts and I'd be surprised if any of the ingredients were fresh. The wood fire oven does give it a nice little layer of flavor that probably sets this place above the other frozen pizza restaurants in Joplin. Definitely not a place you want to travel any distance for but if you're in the area it is an okay spot.
