(June 3, 2020, 6:46 pm)I live in mid-Missouri, but I am in the KC region often. I discovered this little gem of a place getting gas at the Bates exit. I was very hungry and was looking at the little bit of food at the gas station, when a guy walking past told me about Bates City BBQ and it is literally just a block away.
I went in and the food was great. If I am in the area and I am going to eat I ALWAYS stop here-unless they are closed (stupid Mondays). -

(March 16, 2019, 6:38 pm)If you're leaving KC or just getting into town this little place won't disappoint. The portions are good sized and the BBQ is better than most. Clean little place with country music playing in the background provided a nice stop off for lunch.
