Don't know how this place stacks up against other food establishments in Rolla, but it's a solid choice for the hungry American consumer. The burger and potato skins we're very good even if the overcooked my burger. The unsweetened ice tea is not for everyone, said the waitress. She was right. The loaded taters or whatever they call them look good despite being rather plain. Considering this place has a big patio and I'd also a music venue, their kitchen is alright by me.
Love the atmosphere. Bartenders and waitresses are very friendly and helpful. Good prices. I can't wait to visit next year.
Excellent service by Elizabeth, and the food was great also. If your traveling down I-44 and want to try something local with a lot of character, and grab some good food, a cold beer, shoot some pool, and maybe even shake a leg, this is your place to stop in and get a giant dose of Midwest Americana for your belly, and your sole. ????
The food is very good and the location is fun. However, service is not consistent. The first time I was there, service was reasonably fast especially considering I was with a group of around a dozen people, and that was fantastic, but the more recent time I was with a group of four people and it took over an hour for us to get our food. They warned us when we were sitting down that it would take 30 minutes, which was fine, but it took over twice that and I ended up being late to my class. Several staff members were also making excuses for the delay, like that there was a larger family and the orders for the kids in that family were difficult, which doesn't make much sense to me. Most kids orders will be fairly easy, like a plain cheeseburger or chicken strips. They gave us a bit of a discount to make up for the slower service, which was appreciated, but I value being on time to my classes much more. Also, it would be awesome if smoking wasn't allowed, at least during the day. I do plan on coming back and possibly updating my review depending on how service is then.
Place was not bad. Maybe I came in believing the hype. The burgers are good just took a while to get it for a day that wasn't very busy. The area is has a nice dive bar vibe and I love that. They have a good selection too so it makes for a good night out.
