Iron Horse BBQ is Platte City’s best kept secret!!
If you have not tried this place, I’m telling you, run don’t walk! The food is absolutely wonderful. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are large. They also have available a cold beer if you decide you would like to have a beer with your barbecue. They have three different types of barbecue sauce and it’s all served on the side so you can try them all. The baked beans were delicious. The coleslaw was very good. The french fries were wonderful. The meal is served with your choice of breads I chose their toast and it was excellent. I will be spreading the word about this wonderful restaurant. I plan to become a regular. Fantastic job! Kudos to the Iron Horse BBQ. Well done!

Kansas City BBQ homemade in Kansas City. How else is there? The staff were wonderful and treated guests as friends. We were passing through on a road trip and located Iron Horse BBQ based on the reviews. Hands down the best choice of this cross country trip. Pulled Pork was excellent and the sauce was amazing. If you want a great experience and delicious BBQ, look no more!

My husband brought home the xl feast. It easily fed 5 adults with lots of leftovers. This was the best BBQ I have ever tasted by far. The whole family was amazed because every single food item was so delicious. It was perfection. We will definitely be coming back. Great job Iron Horse!

As a huge BBQ enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for the next best place to go indulge my smokey cravings. A friend of mine told me about a fairly new to town place up in Platte City named Iron Horse. Of course I had to go check it out!

I've been there a handful of times and have yet to be disappointed. The ribs, the sliced beef, the turkey are all outstanding. But the crown jewel of this place HAS to be the burnt ends. Up until Friday night, my favorite burnt ends came from a little place down on SW Boulevard that sits right next to a Mexican restaurant. Iron Horse has now moved into my 1st place spot.

On any given day you'll see a sold out placard over the burnt ends on the menu. What you need to do is call ahead a day or two and let them know you're coming. They will make as much as you'd like. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Big portions of tasty barbeque at great prices. Friendly service made the visit even better. We got way more than we bargained for when we decided to try this place for dinner. All three barbeque sauces were delicious with their various meats. The burnt ends were already so flavorful that they didn't need extra sauce.
