Catalpa

Really enjoyed ourselves! The ambience, the service(!), the food: all done well. Sometimes I wonder how a place survives. Catalpa shows what it takes. I’m from The area originally and don’t get back often enough. Catalpa made me feel good. Used to always do the Tavern. Now I’m going to turn off Main and head to the “suburbs”. Very special, (the Tavern is good too). Props to the only review that isn’t 5 Star. The most confusing narrative I’ve read in a while. Don’t agree with the rating either. Go, and enjoy!

Chef Liz and her amazing team don't just serve meals, they invite you into their home like a family! The whole staff is amazing and if you are lucky you might get a visit to your table from Chef Liz herself and her little one, Ellis! Don't skip the apple sangria, it's to die for. This experience is not to be skipped! Definitely make a reservation ahead of time!

Catalpa's is always packaged and despite the comparable view- right next-door - is not. And there's a reason for that: The food is okay, at best. Service is on the slow side and the live music is more annoying than anything. The decor is outdated. Prices are on the higher side. If you don't want to wait for a table at Duke's, this place is alright, but given the choice, I'd go to Catalpa's.

Third anniversary - we've celebrated here each time. Delicious and awesome staff. Highly recommended.

I am still on cloud nine after indulging in the most extraordinary meal I've had in quite some time. Catalpa combines an unparalleled intimate setting with the most superbly delectable dinner you will find in Arrow Rock, perhaps even in all of Missouri! Along with the cuisine reaching well beyond five stars, the hospitality and service are equally as exquisite. Seriously, I have never had a filet melt in my mouth like that, so fantastically tender and delicious. EVERYTHING was delicious -- the salads, the rolls, the sangria, the frozen custard -- my mouth is salivating once again! And I couldn't leave without purchasing a few bottles of their Small Batch House Vinaigrette -- spectacular flavor! On your next visit to Arrow Rock, it is imperative that you make a reservation at Catalpa for an incredibly euphoric dining experience. My compliments to the remarkably talented Chef Liz and her incomparable staff! I shall return!
