Crazy Sushi

We absolutely love this place! We used to live down the street and would go all the time. But after moving to Kansas City we still cannot find a place that compares. The best anywhere!!!

It is not a Michelin 3 Star kind of place but amazingly cute. I love their Salmon/Avocado roll and their St. Louis Roll is awesome. Generally I stay away from spicy rolls because of the way they are made, so I can't comment on them. Anyway, they got me a complimentary side of Edamame last time I was there, that's awesome.

Crazy Sushi not only has great food, but also a great atmosphere. It is a naturally quiet place, so coming in has a nice calming effect. The lighting is dim, but done in a way that creates a sense of privacy rather than seediness. I wouldn't recommend bringing a rambunctious group of friends here, but it's great for a casual anniversary dinner, catching up with old friends, or even coming by yourself! In my humble opinion, the sushi, udon, and tempura are comparable to the same foods sold in Nara, Japan! I'm not sure how their business is doing, but it is never busy when I visit, so I would hate to see a good restaurant go out of business. They're really nice, so please check them out!

We moved up from South Florida about 13 years ago and had a hard time finding fresh, quality sushi up in Missouri. We tried tons of sushi restaurants, and none of them did it for us EXCEPT Crazy Sushi. We have now been going to Crazy Sushi for over 10 years, and it is by the far the best sushi in the region. The owners and staff are the kindest people, and there is no intimidation. They are happy to explain items on the menu, or help you find what you are looking for.
