Carl's Drive-In

More than a simple burger joint, Carl's is truly a St Louis experience. Flat burgers done the right way, Carl's still feels like a slice of history as the two sided, bar seating only "drive-in" is a fantastic atmosphere for consistently fantastic food. Root beer in a barrel, homemade shakes, and crisp french fries help to complete any meal at this cash only establishment.

Highly recommend visiting not just once, but as often as possible. I try to make it a point to go every time I'm in town, and have yet to be let down even with my ever soaring expectations of this classic.

Really good food at an even better price. Food came quick and service was terrific. Limited seats so would suggest avoiding during lunch hours. Would recommend to anybody!

Carl's Drive-In is a great burger place. It's one of the best I've ever been to. Their burgers are fried in front of you, and the root beer is a must have, and I bet it'll be the best you ever have too. The staff is friendly, and they take care of you right away. The seating is limited, but luckily most people get out fast. They also only accept cash, but have an ATM for convenience

Probably one of the best hole-in-the-wall burger spots in St. Louis. Awesome burgers that are affordable and quick. Both times I went I was there when it was slower so we were seated instantly and got our food just as quick. I’ve heard it’s worse during lunch hours.
The long wait is worth the burgers! Awesome ice cold root beer on hot days makes it that much better as well

Super cool Route 66 stop! They’ve been here since the 50’s serving their same signature burgers. Staff was informative and friendly. Try the curly dog! Such fun on a bun. As a side note, parking is very limited and not for large vehicles.
