Just superb. We split 4 small plates and the steak. Everything was awesome, including the staff. The Brussels are to die for. The barbacoa amazing. Feels like a place where you can't really go wrong. Turned our table really fast too.
Holy cow! I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you are looking for a meal for 2 for under $40 you will be in the wrong place. A couple drinks a couple mains and a dessert and appetizer and you will easily hit $100. That being said it is worth every penny. Ambiance is great. They deliver exactly what they say they have. It's great classic American food with a twist. It's done to perfection and the seasonal cocktails are delicious. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. The entire staff take loads of pride in this place and it totally shows.
The mocktail are bit on the sweet side, but they were okay.
Their signature Brussels are good as they said - the malt vinegar aioli goes really well with toasted Brussels. The strip steak is tender, the potatoes are crispy and creamed spinach has gentle touch of cream, so it’s not too creamy. This steak dish is a very well executed, delicious dish. We enjoyed our dinner here very much. We will definitely return.
The service was great and the food was even better, impressive as a first visit. It's a very quaint place with a lovely second floor, obviously old living space of the original storefront. The Strip Steak and Pork Tenderloin were great but the Brussel Sprouts were the main event! We will definitely be back.
Try several small plates, particularly the beef cheek, the Brussels sprouts, the cornbread, the scallops. You'll experience a multitude of cooking techniques perfected, and an abundance of perfectly balanced flavors and textures.
Desserts are excellent as well, though I am often just not hungry enough at the end of a meal here to enjoy them appropriately. I live for the hope that they bring back brunch in another season. Breakfast pastries were just spiritual, and the other dishes, both savory and sweet, were at least twice as satisfying as other brunch spots around town.
Cocktails are always at least very good and sometimes truly memorable. Wine list is nationally recognized.
Service is excellent; staff has perfect timing and are all friendly and personable. This is at least Michelin 2-star level dining in terms of food/drink quality, service, and atmosphere.
