Met at J. Greene's with a large group of about 25. The service and food were both excellent and there was plenty of parking for a Thursday night. We reserved the meeting room, which worked out perfectly. Our waitress, Stacy, was amazing. She did a great job keeping up with such a large group. This was the first time we had our meet-up at J. Greene's, and we'll definitely keep it in the rotation.
This is one of my favorite bars in the St. Louis area. They are a cozy bar with a small town feel. The free trivia on Tuesday and free bingo on Wednesday are very enjoyable and the prizes are well thought out. The bartenders are attentive. There is a good selection of beers and the food is delicious and moderately priced.
Corned beef and cabbage and chicken pot pie, among the daily fare, both received good reviews. The steak sandwich, not so much, as the meat was cubed and not very generous.
Who the hell puts a cherry on top of an Irish coffee?!? Also, if done right the cream and coffee do not blend, furthermore I haven't had a drink this heavy handed on alcohol since highschool. That said, the food is excellent. Just a bit high priced but not unforgivably so. Atmosphere is NOT a pub though. Just a good local American restaurant with traditional Irish dishes and no idea how to make a coffee.
