Nippon Tei

Everything from the basic staples like fried rice and gyoza to the more 'advanced' stuff like their octopus salad and sushi was fantastic. Service was attentive, friendly, and they won't make you feel stupid for asking questions. If you're scared of raw fish and want to get into it this a great place to start and is perfect for seasoned sushi eaters too.

We go here fairly often (once every couple of months) and have only had one bad experience in what would probably total around 20 visits. The sushi is as good as you will find in St. Louis, and considerably better than almost anywhere else. Service has always been very good, other than that one time, and the food is always very good to great. Try the crab rangoon - this stuff is not your Chinese buffet garbage. Rolled like an egg roll, and super delicious. We love Nippon Tei.

The salmon rice bowl is so much more impressive than it sounds. Layers of unique and complementary flavors and textures. The best salmon in town, perfectly prepared. Also included, the miso soup and salad are delicious. Those lacy round crisps atop the salad are lotus root! Nippon Tei was recently voted #7 in the 100 Best Restaurants in St. Louis, and it shows.

While by no means the best sushi in St. Louis, Nippon Tei is nevertheless a good option for those around the Manchester area. Service is excellent and the restaurant is clean and well maintained. The cooked dishes are flavorful, though the sushi was less so. Ask for lighter portions of sauce to balance out salty flavor profiles. Some of the better miso I've had

Holy smokes! This place is awesome! Amazing food and service! Big portions. Their crab Rangoon is the best I’ve ever had. They are so nice and on it when it comes to great customer service!
