Possibly the #1 Mexican restaurant in the St. Louis area I've been to, both the food and atmosphere are some of the best! I love this place!

Love their skinny margaritas. Staff had always been friendly. Prime dinner hours Fri and Sat can lead to a long wait.

Food was good. Service was too fast and resulted in orders that had to be corrected. But overall pleasant experience. We will be back.

I'm struggling a bit with this one. I love the food here, and the prices are reasonable. This is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in St. Louis. BUT... if you get the wrong server it can ruin your entire experience. Most of the staff are phenomenal, but there are two in particular that I refuse to have provide service. I went out with friends to celebrate my birthday, at least 15 people there, outside on the patio. We ordered almost 7 pitchers of margaritas, a few rounds of shots, a couple buckets of beer and dinner all around along with appetizers and desserts. As my crowd dwindled, the server complained that we took up too much room and should leave... while we were waiting for more drinks and more food, and a few more people. Needless to say it's put a bad taste in my mouth to return to that particular location. Luckily there are other servers who welcome their patrons, and they're the reason I return.

We get delivery through Door Dash from this El Maguey, so I've never actually been inside the restaurant, but their food is what Mexican food is supposed to taste like in my opinion (I'm from a part of CA I lovingly refer to as "North Mexico" and food from the actual northern part of Mexico was everywhere). Quality is consistent and I always get two meals out of every entree I've ordered. It reminds me of the food from home (honestly food in So Cal is one of the few things I miss), so this is comfort food for me and it never disappoints.
