    It's the finest bar in Soulard (which is saying a lot). Treat yourself to the best burger you've ever had and the coldest beer. But be warned: cash only, early morning to mid-afternoon only, closed on Mondays, no weekend hours.

    Be prepared to make friends.

    Arguably the oldest single family diner in St Louis. An Archivist would have to really determine. This cash only diner has breakfast just like the baby boomers ate while they were growing up. I am happy to be an occasional patron. The location is east of Broadway down in Soulard. Al's is usually closed on Mondays. I go for breakfast. His hours are early morning through afternoon. I am not certain what time in the afternoon he closes. He has a full bar for those shift worker who are thirsty.
