LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! My hubster and I went for lunch. The atmosphere is soo creative. There are plenty of tables of various sizes. Some of the tables are stationed inside of former jail cells which lends itself nicely to the vibe. The service was great. The cashier/server was friendly, knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of chips w/ queso. The hubster ordered the variety tacos. The brisket was tender, fell apart easily and nicely seasoned. The chips w/ queso were AWESOME. They tasted like homemade Doritos but better. My hubster loved his tacos and had no complaints. So, if you’re looking for a chill place with great food, definitely try Pokotok.
Was blown away by how fresh and delicious the food was. We got the Birria fries, carnitas tacos, and the street corn taco (which is a super amazing vegetarian option).
If y'all pass up this place, it's a huge mistake. Easily some of the best tacos in KC. I cant wait to come back again soon!
Exceptionally friendly people, delicious food and a beautiful outdoor space. The inside seating is constructed from a converted jail house, which is amazing. It’s also connected to an art gallery you can browse while waiting for your food! The nice woman working the window convinced me to try the veggie taco and I’m glad she did. This is a hidden gem for sure.
Cool set up, it is in an old police station. We ate in one of the old cells. Service was great! The person who took our order was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious! Best birria I have had!! The fries were good and an amazing portion size. The tacos were also tasty. We did realize that we were overcharged which is a bit disappointing but I know they just opened and it was a mistake.
Located in Mad Art Gallery, the menu is located by the cashier:
order
pay
pick up plates/napkins/utensils/etc
then find your table.
We ordered each of the three salsas to sample(red, green, spicy).
Portions were generous. I suggest sharing the fries with the table!! I’ll be ordering extra pickled cabbage for them next time :)
Would love a chips & salsa or queso appetizer option added in the future.
The menu was a bit redundant and busy to look at but pretty basic at its core.
Service was quick and helpful.
Flavors were bold and craveable.
Served a variety of Mexican beers.
