Crown Candy Kitchen is the best experience you can get!! But the best part is the HEART STOPPING BLT. It's to die for. Lots of old fashion stuff and great homemade chocolate and treats!! Also the ice cream is good, the only down fall is the wait, as it usually has a line in my experience. Worth the wait

My friend and I had some Hot Fudge Sundaes this afternoon. We arrived about 1:30 on a Thursday, and had to wait outside about 40 minutes. The only reason we got in so quickly, was a two-seater table opened up for us. Small restaurant, about 20 tables, and boy do they pack you in! Our seats were tight, but not uncomfortable.
The sundaes were good, but the price ($5) seemed a bit high. We got them in to-go cups, so we also got a (free?) souvenir cup from our visit.
The sandwich prices also seemed high ($10 for BLT, Reuben, a few others) until I saw some being brought to other tables. They were BIG, with lots of meat on them. So, next time, I'll have to try a sandwich here. Service was very good, our waitress was hopping around like crazy, but made sure everyone at her tables were taken care of.
The restaurant opened in 1913, and it almost seems like you step back in time when eating here. Very cool interior!
So, good restaurant with good food and good service, although expect to pay a little extra for the old-time atmosphere.

We loved this experience! It took us back in time. The food and malts were delicious. We haven't tried the candy we purchased yet, but it looks wonderful. The man at the candy counter was incredibly nice.

Step back in time to a simpler world. Although some things have changed Crown Candy still keeps the nostalgia alive and well. Huge portions at very reasonable prices. Everyone loved their food and especially dessert ! The Turkey melt with bacon is one of my favorites. Always nice service as well.

Come either really early or late in the day or during off hours to try and avoid the wait. Unlike modern day restaurants where you give your name and then a hostess calls you, at Crown Candy there is simply a line. No lists or pagers - just a line. A wait is worth it. Extra bonus...just across the street you get a terrific view of the Arch in the distance !

This place is small but very unique. The tables are only seat four total. We had a chair Sydney at the end as there were 5 of us. They offer sandwiches and ice cream. The service is fast and friendly. I would highly recommend it as it is still in its original location from many years. 2 of my dining partners had the big bacon sandwich. 2 of my other diners had cheese sandwiches. I had him sandwich. We all had ice cream. I would certainly go again. The neighborhood parking is a pain as it is on a street in the city but we lucked out and found a spot close. It's certainly worth a try.
